We will explore the beautiful city of Durham with its medieval cathedral dati9ng back to 1093. Also included is a visit to Carlisle, a city rich in history with its castle still standing proud and strong. We will then take in some of the country’s most stunning landscapes as we journey to Hadrian’s Wall and Hexham


Gilsland Hall Hotel

Sitting proudly in 140 acres of manicured gardens and natural woodland, the Gilsland Hall boasts spectacular views across the Cumbrian and Northumbrian countryside. It takes its name from nearby Gilsland Village, well known for the restorative properties of the historic sulphur well visited by many since the 1800s. All bedrooms are en-suite with colour TV, telephone and tea/coffee making facilities. There is a lift to the second floor although some rooms are only accessible via stairs.
